Flaming moth in Taiwan

IMG_0471 The typical lace blob picture of the Wing o the Moth shawl in a flaming ruby red from Lisa Souza. Progress is slow as I'm not always home. I'm hoping to have the fir cone pattern repeat done by the weekend. I'm currently in Taiwan but will be going to Shanghai on Wednesday. Due to some stupid regulations in place by Taiwan, I can't fly directly from Taiwan to Shanghai. I have to fly Taiwan -> Hong Kong -> Shanghai. That's about 5 hours on a plane instead of 2. That's time to do some knitting.

Those food pictures are making me hungry! And the Flaming Moth looks great. I'm worried about your taking up quilting, though -- I can just imagine your getting to 20 stitches per inch on your quilting stitches on the second try.

Wow, it looks like it's really coming along! I keep wanting to try a lace project, but I can't get it started - very few stitches on very slick needles, and they all fall off, but when I use bamboo needles, the stitches grip too much, and I can't manipulate them!

Thank you for uploading all of those pictures. They were lots of fun to look at. Quilting? You should check out the Quilt Patch in Fairfax. They are located on Main St. http://www.quiltpatchva.com/

They have classes - maybe the fabric collage class would be good? You can find it under Design and Color. Here is the description:

FABRIC COLLAGE - Make a small quilt top using raw edged pictorial fabrics to make the fiber art collage. Learn to decorate with charms, beads, threads and quilting patterns. Each collage will be a unique work of art. Ask for supplies list. *Sewing machine required. Bring bag lunch. 2 sessions, $79

Let me know if you would like to meet me there before knitting sometime. The fabrics there are amazing.
