Return to the world of the living

I've been out with a fever for a week. Allergic reaction to an antibiotic (tetracycline) combined with a virus...knocked me right now. The doctor thinks it was either mono or some form of hepatitis...interesting...so I'm supposed to go back for another blood test today.

10K down...10 miles to go

Sallie Mae 10K was yesterday. I survived and finished in just over 1 hour and 15 minutes. Whee! Now I'm working on making my friend Jim his birthday present... I could be a little more productive if it weren't for this cold. I think I may have been able to shave a minute or two off my time as well if it weren't for health related issues like this cold.
Pictures of tulips to come. And maybe before the spring is through, I'll make myself a pot of parrot tulips. I already know the beads I'm going to use as well.
Next up, Broad Street Run in Philly in two weeks. eek!

No more hockey

So, last weekend was the Frozen Four. Denver won (again) and now it's onto the off season. My plan is to work my way through my Netflix queue. While I do that, there's lots to bead! I finally get to be home for a couple of weekends in a row and there's plenty to do (non crafting related) around the house as well. Too much clutter. I hate clutter. It comes in various forms like junk mail and the branches that break off from the tree outside.
Sunday, I'm signed up to run the Sallie Mae 10k. If I can't walk after that...well, I'll start in on the Netflix/beading plan.
Next Sunday, I'm headed down to Charlottesville for Donna's Cymbidium Orchid class.
And my calla lily pattern is coming along. I created a template for myself in Microsoft Word...and rewrote the thing (again). Oh well, practice makes perfect!

Dancing Ladies

So what do you think, real or fake?
Knowing me, that should be the first question you ask yourself. And if you check out the picture, you'll see the answer is....fake! Another one of Donna's designs. Started last October at the flowers seminar. I finally re-assembled the branches to a shape I like and replanted. I just need to dump some orchid potting mix into the planter and I'll be all set. Right now it's sitting high enough that you can't look into the pot so it's okay. Posted by Hello

Current To Do List / Works in Progress

1. Bells of Ireland (waiting for the chartreuse wire to come in)
2. Foxglove
3. Dump some orchid potting mix into the orchid and take a picture
4. more sunflowers
5. daisies for Gabe and Nisha's new house
6. Finish up leaves for the the other two dutch irises
7. Recreate my phalenopsis orchids in beads
8. tulips

I feel as if I'm forgetting something, or a lot of somethings. This list seems way too short!

Irises

Finally! I've got the irises finished. Of course, it is because I've donated it to the flower show down at Studio Baboo and Terri is taking possession of them next Sunday. But aren't they pretty? Posted by Hello
It's been a most productive weekend. I went to Donna's yesterday to take the Bells of Ireland class...and I felt horrible. Came home and went to sleep for the night...except for an hour for dinner. I think that helped...it made me realize that I needed to stop and just take some time for myself. So today, I did all of my laundry. I'm amazed that I have clothes again! And I finished up a couple of things...like assembling this iris and reassembling my dancing ladies. I need a picture of that. First I need to dump some orchid potting mix on top!
